Spicy Sugar Cookies


1 ½ cups sugar

1 cup shortening or butter

2 eggs

1 teaspoon Vanilla

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup buttermilk

3 ½ cups flour (not sifted)

½ cup TorchBearer Sauces Mango-Papaya Sauce



First cream sugar and shortening in a large mixing bowl.  Add eggs, butter milk, vanilla, and Mango-Papaya Sauce and mix until blended.  Slowly add salt, baking soda, baking powder, and flour.  Mix until blended together.


Place parchment paper on cookie sheets and put rounded tablespoons of cookie dough about 2 inches apart.


Bake at 375 for 10 minutes, or until cookies are golden brown


Try sprinkling these with colored sugar for even more holiday fun.
