Every year we enter a ton of sauces into the myriad categories judged at the Spicy Flave Awards and every year we take home a few wins. This year, we placed in some fun new spots and thought we could pat ourselves on the back for a hot minute. Take a moment with us as we bask in our awesomeness.
Chipotle BBQs Category - 3rd Place - Shinedown's Symptom
That smoky, spicy and garlicky Symptom Sauce, the first of three we made with Shinedown's drummer Barry, grabbed the third spot and it is well-deserved. Throughout the year, more and more of you have been giving this one a shot and we can tell by it's steady climb in popularity that it is a true winner. We've loved it on sandwiches, burgers, and more and hope you all are finding even more things to use it in or on. It's just got all the right flavors in all the right places to become a staple in your collection.

Gluten-Free BBQs - 3rd Place - Oh My Garlic
We love this one because, while we routinely baste chicken thighs and skewered veggies with OMG, we don't often promote it as a BBQ sauce. The Flave Awards knew what we were doing and the judges could obviously put themselves in front of their grill with a bottle of this at the ready. Along with those grilling suggestions, we love making white pizza with Oh My Garlic, adding a little parm and tossing it with wings, or even just using it as a healthier salad dressing. And just a reminder, ALL of our sauces are gluten-free so if that's a necessity for your diet, you can rest easy with any TorchBearer sauce.

Spicy Mustards - 3rd Place - Honey Badger
These past 12 months we've had so many Garlic Reaper fans grab up a bottle of Honey Badger to give something new a try and write back exclaiming how surprised they were with it's flavor and heat. Could Honey Badger become the new best seller? Only time will tell but we know we love it, especially on chicken sandwiches, ham, pretzels, and more. We were surprised to place with this because it tends to be quite a few ticks higher than "spicy" but we aren't complaining. Don't be surprised if you go through this one faster than any other scorpion pepper super-hots you have lying around.

Wing Sauces Hot/Extra Hot - 2nd Place - Son of Zombie
Oh Son of Zombie. The sauce that has so many ingredients and subtle flavors that everyone has a different description of what they taste in it. However, when it comes to using it we mainly hear three things; wings, burgers, and making store bought BBQ sauce taste better. It's also a big favorite around here so placing anywhere with it makes us all happy. If you've never had this one, you have to get yourself a bottle and starting trying things. You'll be surprised what it works with.

Treats/Snacks - 2nd Place - Garlic Reaper Meat Sticks
You may or may not remember but earlier this year we teamed up with a local meat company, Weavers of Wellsville, to create Garlic Reaper Meat Sticks and they absolutely killed it! We've had countless compliments on the flavor and heat of these addictive snacks and it really makes sense to have placed with them in this year's Spicy Flave Awards. A little smoky, a great mouth feel, and more than a little heat make these one of the best snacks you can get a hold of. We definitely aren't biased. Definitely.

There you have it! Five awards and another way to get our name out there so more folks can taste the fruits of our labor. Thanks for another great year and for letting us brag a little.
