We are pretty deep into the season at this point and I'm sure all you football fanatics are already planning out your spread or at least the dish your are bringing to someone else's. This is one of those times in the year where hot sauces shine, be it in a bottle with the other condiments, slathered on various plates of wings, or used in a creative recipe. We love the third option because, not only is it fun to make party food, but it keeps us from being the schlub that only brings a bag of pretzels to the potluck.
Now, because we love you and believe in your true potential, we thought you might benefit from some easy yet delicious crowd pleasers that will make you stand out amongst the nacho-cheesy, buffalo-dippy normies at the party.

Carolina BBQ Meatballs
These are perfect and can be made ahead of time, thrown on a plate, and served along side some rolls or just toothpicks. They are tangy and a little sweet and won't blow up anyone with a low spice tolerance. For a party we recommend doubling (or even tripling) the recipe so everyone can have their fill.
Ingredients:
Directions:
- Combine all of the meatball ingredients in a medium bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Form into 16 meatballs.
- In a large, nonstick sauté pan, fry the meatballs over medium heat until golden on all sides and cooked through. About 3 to 4 minutes per side.
- Toss the meatballs gently in the sauce.
- Spread on a parchment lined baking sheet and broil for 2 to 3 minutes.
Serve with coleslaw for the authentic BBQ experience!
Goat Cheese Crab Dip
There's dip and then there's TorchBearer's Goat Cheese Crab Dip. Nothing will get you more brownie points then showing up with a crock of this. You'll also feel good knowing you raised the bar a bit when it gets compared to the French onion dip someone took 2 seconds to throw together or the weird brown Guacamole that one dude always shows up with. Yikes.

- 1 6 oz can crab meat
- 3 artichoke hearts, finely chopped
- 4 oz goat cheese
- 1 small bunch scallion, finely chopped
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 3 tbsp #1 Every Day or #7 Sultry Sauce™
- Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

- Place in a casserole dish and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until cheese gets bubbly.
- Serve with toasted pita triangles or crackers. Also, feel free to up the heat with Tarnation or even Slaughter if you think they crew can handle it!
Hot Sauce Hell Missiles
Here is the one that wins every time (unlike any of those teams you follow with such fervor). This brings everything a true American snacker craves: cheese, fried food, beer, and spice. Keep in mind that the name is VERY accurate so don't be leaving these out for the kids or your grandpa...
Ingredients:
- 6 to 8 habanero peppers
- 4 oz goat cheese
- 1 tbsp chives, diced
- 1 tbsp #7 Sultry Sauce™
- 4 oz cheddar cheese
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 4 oz dark beer
- vegetable or canola oil
Directions:
- Combine goat cheese, diced chives, cheddar cheese and #7 Sultry Sauce™.
- Remove the tops from the habaneros and gently fill them with the cheese stuffing.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a bowl and toss in a bit of flour so the batter will stick.
- Mix flour, black pepper, garlic salt, and cayenne pepper together in a separate bowl.
- Stir the dark beer of your choice into the flour and spice mix until you come up with a pancake batter-like consistency.
- Dunk the cheese-filled habaneros into the batter.
- Deep fry in oil over medium-high heat until they reach your desired level of crispiness (5 to 10 minutes)
That's it! These are the meanest poppers you'll ever have (and the most delicious). Serve them with a little sour cream to help douse the flames.
