Hot Sauces

Real hot sauce doesn’t need any gimmicks; it just needs better peppers.

Not all hot sauce is created equal. Every bottle at TorchBearer is built around flavor first, with real chile peppers doing the heavy lifting.

Our range covers every kind of hot sauce lover. There’s mild hot sauce for people who think they don't like hot pepper sauce. Something that will make the heat-chasers really sweat, and a lot of interesting territory in between.

If you've seen us on Hot Ones, you already know a little about what we do. If you haven't, the short version: Pennsylvania-bred, 20-plus years, flavor-first, and we take the whole thing very seriously (while also not taking ourselves too seriously).

The Scale Doesn’t Lie

Our 0-10 heat level scale is the honest version of what you see on most bottles. Level 0 means zero heat. Level 10 means you've been warned.

Oh My Garlic sits at Level 0, a deeply savory, garlic-forward sauce that has genuinely nothing to do with Scoville and everything to do with flavor. Garlic Reaper brings Carolina Reaper depth; Zombie Apocalypse and Son of Zombie are for people who mean it.

If you want to work your way up to the best hot sauces in this collection or just find your permanent spot on the scale, the heat numbers are there to help. Most people land somewhere around medium heat and are perfectly happy staying there.

We use real peppers: habanero, jalapeño, Carolina Reaper, ghost pepper, and more, each one chosen because it brings something real to the flavor profile.

You can taste the difference. Habanero hot sauce built with real habanero peppers has a fruity, tangy heat that extracts simply cannot replicate. The same goes for our chipotle-based sauces, our jalapeno-based sauces, and anything else in the lineup…the pepper is the point.

Shake it On Everything (Seriously)

Hot sauce goes on more foods than you think. Obviously tacos, wings, and eggs. Less obviously: grilled cheese, burritos, ramen, roasted vegetables, and anything that needs a little personality.

Our sweeter, fruit-forward sauces are built for glazing and grilling, the kind of BBQ application where a tangy kick and a little sweetness do more work than straight heat. The super hot bottles are for cooking applications where a few drops are all you need.

The short answer: pick based on flavor profile first, heat level second. That’s how we built them, and that’s how they work best on your taste buds.

Accidentally Healthy, Intentionally Delicious

We've been making original hot sauce in Pennsylvania since 2005, back when small-batch and craft weren't marketing terms; they were just how you made things when you cared about what went in the bottle.

No preservatives, no artificial flavors, and nothing that sounds like a chemistry exam. The ingredient list reads the way it should.

FAQs

Does hot sauce expire?

Hot sauce doesn’t go bad the way most food does. The vinegar and pepper content make it naturally resistant to spoilage.

A new, unopened bottle of our sauce is good for 3 years. Once opened we recommend keeping it in the fridge which should still be good a year from opening, if not longer. Color changes or mild flavor shifts over time are completely normal, not a sign something’s wrong. If you ever see mold or something questionable, don’t doubt… throw it out!

What’s a good hot sauce for someone who doesn’t like heat?

Not a fan of the hottest hot sauces? Oh My Garlic is zero burn and all flavor. It’s a deeply savory, roasted garlic sauce that works on pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and anything else you’d put garlic on.

For a little bit of heat, explore our mild hot sauces, ranging from 0-2 on our heat scale.

A lot of people who “don’t like hot sauce” find out they just don’t like the ones built around heat instead of flavor.

How are TorchBearer hot sauces different from brands like Tabasco or Sriracha?

Sriracha and Tabasco are condiment staples, and we have respect for the classics. But TorchBearer is doing something different: small-batch production, real whole peppers, no capsaicin extract, and a flavor-first philosophy that shows up in every bottle. The heat is real, and so is every other ingredient!
